ICDA's third tournament of the year, hosted by Conant High School, is a standard invitational tournament.

The tournament structure during ICDA 3 is identical to that of ICDA 2.

Unlike most other tournaments, which are separated by four-week gaps, ICDA 3 occurs only two weeks after ICDA 2. As a result, debaters have far less time to prepare for this tournament than usual.

To partially compensate for this fact, legislation for ICDA 3 is released around the same time as legislation for ICDA 2 in order to allow debaters enough time to research all the bills before the tournament starts, even with the tight turnaround.
